Last month, I wrote about my May favorites. For my first ever “favorites” post, I went with a formula I’ve seen over and over on various blogs. I was just trying to feel it out. I have a lot of products each month that I wind up loving or using more than others but that’s not the only thing the month of consists of.
I have favorite songs, tv shows, movies, moments, people, ect. This month, I thought I would go on the path less traveled. I wanted an all-encompassing overview of what my month looked like and all that it entailed.
Here goes nothin’…
FASHION AND BEAUTY
This top is breezy, lightweight, interesting, flattering, and the perfect coral color. Clearly coral and I are having a moment. To see more of this top, I wrote about it in my Bringing Summer to the Office post!
This picture encompasses 2 favorites this month. For one, this gorgeous bag. It’s the perfect sand color to keep the palette for a summer outfit light. The fringe and studs give the bag a more fun side but the long strap and surprisingly roomy inside makes it practical. This bag was also featured in my Bringing Summer to the Office Post – another Stitch Fix find!
The second favorite in the picture is my nail color. Again, perfect color for summer. The one I’m wearing is Essie’s California Coral. The color, the name, it just spoke to me.
PEOPLE
The shooting in Orlando was yet another tragic event involving guns on American soil. While this isn’t the appropriate platform to express my thoughts on gun control, I will say that my 2 favorite people this month are Senator Murphy and Senator Booker. When gun control wasn’t even on the agenda for Congress to talk about the week after the shooting, these guys felt they had to do something.
Senator Murphy stood up and filibustered until a decision could be made. Senator Booker stood with him the entire time of the filibuster out of solidarity. They stood up for what they believed in and they said enough is enough. I watched the entire filibuster, that’s right, the whole thing. It was so fascinating to see our government at work and better yet, to see someone say, “we have to protect our people”.
For the first time in a very long time, I had hope for America’s future in this aspect. I’m not comfortable disclosing how I feel about it personally but it was amazing to see someone take a stand and to see someone be determined to make a change. Truly inspiring.
ENTERTAINMENT
MOVIE-
Me Before You was in my May Favorites because I absolutely loved the book. This month, I saw the movie and was equally enamored with the story on the big screen as I was reading it printed on the page. It wasn’t the typical romantic film. The cinematography was unique and charming. I loved them as real people not fictional characters that give me #relationshipgoals – it was beautiful and lovely. Obviously, highly recommended.
SONGS-
There are 2 songs this month that I can’t stop playing on repeat and I know I’m not alone.
First up: Can’t Stop the Feeling! – Justin Timberlake
Seriously, what better song for the summer? I mean, for real. There’s an official video out but my favorite is the one with the cast. It just makes you happy!
Second on deck: Let It Go – James Bay
A little bit more of a mellow vibe but the perfect soundtrack to star gaze to or to just take a moment and listen. Such calming music with the perfect words. Love, love, love.

Manhattan Beach – how incredibly beautiful! To celebrate my birthday, my friends and I decided to have a beach day. It was so nice to be outside in the sunshine. We played in the water, soaked in the sun, and played volleyball. Just to enjoy each others company while the sea’s breeze danced in my hair, it was quite the perfect day.

June turned out to be a great month. The beginning of summer with sandy beaches and music you can dance to. I’m excited to see what July holds!

How was your June? Have you had any days in the sun or movies you’ve enjoyed? I’d love to see what you’ve been up to 🙂
