I know the stereotypical thing to say here is, “I can’t believe May is already over and we’re almost to June” but if I’m being honest, I fully believe it’s just about to be June and that we have another month behind us. It has already been a long year – in a good way! It’s been filled with so many new friends and opportunities that I feel like the end of May, beginning of June is right where I ought to be. So, with May coming to a close I thought I would share some of the items I’ve been loving this month. It’s a little bit of everything so I’m sure you’ll find something new in here to try.
I just finished this book and I’ve got to tell you, it’s one of the best love stories I’ve read in quite some time. It’s sweet but real and full of love but not contrived. I couldn’t get enough. I’ve already ordered the sequel, After You and I can’t wait for the movie version to come out June 3rd! If you’d like to see what I’m reading next, follow me on Goodreads! I’d love to connect and see what my fellow bookworms are getting their noses buried in.
This brush has been, well let’s just say revolutionary. If you have a pet that sheds, you will know my pain. It’s always on my clothes, in my car, on my sheets, and the worst – in my mouth. Scout’s hair just floats in the hair, landing on furniture coating it along with the dust. Well NO MORE! No more I say!! I brush Scout with this brush every other day and our home has been all the better for it. My mom first used this brush on Scout and when she did, she filled up an entire grocery bag with his hair. He’s a small dog, people!
Let’s keep this plain and simple: this mask is incredible. I have combination skin. It can be dry but just like everyone else, I have an oily T-zone. I apply the mask to my T-zone and wait for it to dry. Once the mask is dry, you can literally see the oil and dirt that it has pulled from your skin. It’s extremely satisfying. Plus, it leaves my skin so soft.
Popcorn – Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn
With summer fast approaching, I’ve found myself at more outdoor screenings making popcorn the perfect snack. Smartfood Popcorn is a healthier alternative than grabbing a bag of chips. It’s also picnic friendly – perfect for a movie under the stars.
Obviously this is a necessity. At least that’s what I thought when I first saw this bad boy in the magical wizarding world of Harry Potter at Universal Studios – Hollywood. Besides the fact that it is proof that I am a bonafide member of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, it’s also the perfect size with a straw (the best water bottles have ’em) and a strap that you can hook and unhook to attach it to a bag. Perfecto!
Knock Out – Victoria Secret Sport
Saying these pants are the perfect pair of cropped sport leggings would be an understatement. They fit me like sport pants should without feeling glued to my body. I never have to pull them up – a must when doing those squats. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the length but now, cropped is the way to go.
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Lodhi
First of all, any of the Nars Satin Lip Pencil colors are absolutely stunning – I own a few different shades myself but Lodhi is the perfect hue for Spring and Summer. The pigments of these pencils are phenomenal. They also don’t make my lips feel dry and they have lasting power like none I’ve seen before. The application is so smooth and the color really makes my lips pop. I tend to gravitate towards more of a neutral tone based wardrobe so a bold, colorful, beautiful lip is the perfect way to go to put my best foot forward jumping into summer.
light|elements – Smoothing Fluid Lotion Lissante
When my hairdresser put this lotion into my hair after my last hair cut, I knew I had to have a bottle for every day use. It made my hair so soft that I couldn’t stop touching it. It also gave it this incredible shine and kept my hair smooth. It’s so simple to use – after I dry my hair, I use a couple of pumps and work through my hair. It makes it feel soft and fresh, not at all greasy. Best part? It’s for all hair types! Score!
Nomad x Marrakesh Eyeshadow – Desert Sands
I was fortunate enough to receive this gorgeous eye shadow in my ipsy this month. It’s a beautiful gold toned shadow with just enough sparkle to give your eyes a little shimmer. I love wearing warm tones when heading into the sunnier seasons. If you subscribe to ipsy, you get a 20% discount on the palette!
Lokai Bracelet – Make a Wish Foundation
It was love at first sight when I first discovered Lokai bracelets. The message is so beautiful! If you haven’t heard of these bracelets, a quick overview: it is a bracelet made of beads. On one side of the circle is a black bead filled with sand from the Dead Sea – the lowest point on Earth. The other side is a white bead filled with water from Mount Everest – the highest point on Earth. The bracelet is to remind us that in the high points of life to stay humble and in the low points, stay hopeful. I think we could all use a reminder for such a message, I know I did. That’s why I asked my dad for one for Christmas. But I felt everyone could use this so I bought my mom, sister, and grandmother all bracelets for Christmas as well. I wear mine every day.
Just when I thought I couldn’t be more in love with this concept, they introduced the limited edition bracelets. I have every single one that they’ve come out with, it’s quite the addiction. Their newest addition is a neon bracelet that is in partnership with the Make A Wish Foundation. If you want to know more, I highly recommend you watch the video associated with the link above.
That’s everything! That’s what I’ve been especially loving this May. What about you? What products can you not stop using? What books have you been reading? Let me know!
Have a beautiful rest of your holiday weekend.
