Since postcards are snippets of what friends and family have missed from your adventures, I figured it’s time to have monthly postcards. To share what has been happening in my life, snapshots of what that looked like, and all the goodies like what movies, books, podcasts, youtube channels, WHATEVER that I couldn’t get enough of this month. So without further ado, here’s the first one, the January postcard. January was the longest month ever so there’s a lot…
Okay, so…
January 2019 already in the books. Weirdly, I simultaneously can’t believe it is already over and can’t believe it isn’t actually May. January and 2019 as a whole have really started off with a *bang*. In the very-loud-gunshot-startle-you-into-starting-the-race BANG.
January has been non-stop. I feel like I’ve been here, there and everywhere but I’ve remembered to have slow mornings with coffee and Scout. The weather has been beautiful, staying between 65 and 75 with some rainy days in there. The weather has allowed for Scout and me to have long, luxurious walks.
I’ve also been able to catch up with so many friends after the holidays! I started off the year going to Descanso Garden’s Enchanted: Forest of Light with two of my closest friends. It rained and the power went out. We had a blast.
Went to The Griffith Park Observatory and caught one of their planetarium shows! This is where you can find the best view of the city. Day or night, it’s breathtaking.
All in all, January was the perfect start to my year. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Loving
The calendar blocking method!
I learned this from Amy Landino on her Youtube channel and have spent this month tweaking it and figuring out a system that works for me. It has increased my productivity tenfold. There is a balance between letting it be a tool and letting it stress you out. I’m still finding the sweet spot but I love how it cuts down on my procrastinating tendencies.
Here is a good video of hers if you’re curious about calendar blocking.
Learning
To manage my time.
To continue having healthy boundaries with myself and for myself with other people and obligations
How to play the guitar! I’m using a program called Yousician. It’s amazing. I’ve already learned more then I did when I was taking private lessons with someone in person. It does cost $ but not much and if you’re serious about learning, so worth it. (#notanad)
Trying New Things
Getting out more! I am such a homebody and love curling up with Scout and a good book at home. But a goal of mine this year is to consistently get out with my friends. Go new places, try new things. Living in LA has a lot of cons (the lack of space and abundance of traffic) but all the different things to do and all the people to meet is one of the biggest pros.

Thanks, Jesse! It’s fun to put everything from the month in one place and it inspires me the rest of the month to do more 🙂
