Let’s face it: the best thing about Christmas is traditions. My family has plenty of them. We go to our local diner and get an eggnog or peppermint milkshake every year. We drive around the neighborhood and admire everyone’s lights. We go to Christmas eve service. We eat cinnamon rolls and egg casserole for Christmas breakfast and brisket for dinner. We make gingerbread houses, decorate the house to the nines, and we always watch an exact and perfected, if I do say so myself, Christmas movie list. It has a little bit of something for everyone but is not for the faint of heart. This Christmas movie list is for the hardcore merry and bright lovers. That is if you watch all the movies (which we do). But if that’s not your speed, maybe be reminded of a few classics, pop the popcorn, and get ready for all the cheer you can handle.
(In alphabetical order)
A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Story
Die Hard (You read that right)
Elf
The Family Man
Frosty the Snowman
The Holiday
Home Alone (and the second one because in this rare occurrence the second is almost as good as the first. The others don’t count because they’re not the same people)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (we do Jim Carrey version but animated is also good)
It’s A Wonderful Life (the original but dealer’s choice)
Jingle All the Way
Klaus (a new addition but we love)
Love Actually
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Mickey’s Christmas Carol
Miracle on 34th Street (the remake but pick your poison)
Polar Express
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
The Santa Clause (all three if you’re feeling ambitious but the first will do nicely)
Serendipity
We also do add in a few new ones that have popped up but may not go into full rotation:
A Christmas Prince (Second one okay, third not so good)
Christmas Inheritance
The Holiday Calendar
Last Christmas
The Princess Switch
The Christmas movie list could be endless. These are the ones who have served us well as we wrap presents, decorate gingerbread houses, and get cozy by the fire. So cheers to tradition and to every year being reminded that it truly is a wonderful life.
Cheersing you with hot chocolate,
I am SO GLAD you’re here. Every day I strive to make Scout and Bex a place of community over competition, faith over fear, and empowerment over doubt. The content here usually includes anything from lifestyle to travel, guides to stories, and everything in between.
Consider this space on the internet your sister in Christ that you always needed. That’s right, we’re Christ centered around here. We break the mold of what it looks like to be a modern woman of faith. To hold compassion and forgiveness and acceptance for other people, as Jesus would.
That mentality does look different then a lot of us were taught to be as women of faith. But we’re moving past what was taught to us because it was the culture of Christianity and moving into what the Lord has in store for us, the women He has created us to be.
So tell me, are you ready? Is this a community you want to be a part of? Are you ready to join the rebellion? I personally can’t wait to make this thing official. If you’re here, I love you already.
