Believe
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
―
Last year, my word was shine. The word stuck with me through the whole year, unlike a resolution whose impact always seemed to dissipate come March. Shine gave me a constant reminder that what I wanted for myself and for my year was to shine. 2017 and 2018 had been rough and tragic years of survival. I had spent much of 2018 working myself to the point of exhaustion to ensure a future where I could really…shine. Yep, now you’re catching on. Shine served me well. I lived up to my word of the year in a way that I had never been able to fulfill resolutions.
So…word on the street is: it’s 2020, the start of a new decade. New year, new decade, new word! And as the title would suggest, that word is: believe.
The special thing about believe is that I think that it will not only serve me in 2020 but also in this brand spankin new decade.
I want to believe in God more than ever. To believe that He has my back and that He has plans to prosper me.
I want to believe in myself. That I can do this. I am brave. I have strength and courage and bravery. Within in me is a witty, funny, talented, ambitious girl. I want to believe that I can be strong and soft. I can be a dreamer, an adventurer, and a homebody. I will have laughter and joy and abundance. I have planned something out to enjoy. Worrying isn’t the answer. Truly.
I believe in magic. And in love. In God’s plan. And my courage. I have spent so much time wondering what if this happens or what if this doesn’t. I am actively choosing to believe that my God is good and what is meant for me will not pass me.
I will believe that there is good in this world and I will be the good. I will choose to see the light and I will put stardust back into the universe. Will you join me?
What word are you putting out there for yourself? Are you setting your intentions for this year, for this month, for this minute?
If I can tell you anything going into this new year it’s this: just by trying, you are brave. By taking that next step or by not taking the step backward, you have courage. This world is so lucky to have you here. We are all right here at this moment in time, in history for a reason. God has so much purpose for your life. He has promises beyond what you expect for yourself. All you have to do is believe.
Keep believing,
