Thoughts
May was a transformative month for me. There’s something about traveling, camping, and being in nature that brings that out in me. Cutting down on the noise and getting back to basics is the best way to reset. It doesn’t hurt that most places didn’t have cell service so those work e-mails I said I’d check, I was unable to. There’s magic in connecting with the Earth and its natural rhythms, our natural rhythms. If you work in the entertainment industry, live in Los Angeles, or are a human being, we get caught up so much in what we need to do, what we want to do, what we plan to do, that we forget to enjoy the “doing”.
Being in nature demands our attention.
We are taken back to our primitive needs and the rest is cut out. Removing ourselves from the busy and stepping into the calm is where the magic happens. Where the cup is refilled and the humming of the earth starts to echo within you. You’re more connected. And when we’re more connected to what’s around us, then we make a greater impact.

Watching
TV
The Bold Type – If you don’t watch this show, you need to. Hands down my favorite show that’s currently on. Anyone can watch obviously but if you’re a millennial woman, GET ON IT!
Nate & Jeremiah by Design – I love their designs. They’re the cutest couple. They have the cutest kids. It’s the only design show I watch and I’m obsessed.
Jane the Virgin – Binge worthy! I know I’m late to the party on this one and I’m still not completely caught up but I seriously can’t get enough of this show.
Elementary – Who else watches this show?! I’ve been a fan for years and am so excited it’s back!
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – You guys, what’s up with Lisa Vanderpump?! Do you think she’s leaving the show?
Movies
The Sun is Also a Star – Oh man. I am a sappy, sentimental person and I struggled with this movie. My friend and I saw it in a theater that was pretty full and there was more awkward laughing from the audience then any movie I’ve ever seen. The editing made moments so awkward and the relationship between the characters (all of them, not just the main ones) felt so forced. I really wanted to like it but man, it was awkward.
A Dog’s Journey – I don’t know if you saw A Dog’s Purpose but I cried through the entirety of that film. I did with this one too. I will say, it was funny to see Dennis Quaid acting like an old man but if you love dogs, this movie pulls at your heartstrings.
Someone Great – Another great Netflix film. It’s a breakup movie and I’m definitely more of a happy movie kind of person. But this was such a great cast and very relatable as a girl living in a big transient city, navigating relationships and career.

If you haven’t been watching my stories, then you aren’t aware of my obsession with Lizzo. And if you haven’t heard Truth Hurts, Heaven Help Me, Water Me, Boys, Tempo then do yourself a favor and listen to those songs and the rest of her Cuz I Love You album.

June is going to be an insane month. I took a peek at the calendar for this month and over half the month is already filled. With birthdays (including mine), a remembrance day, Father’s Day, house warming parties, game nights, bbqs, work dinners, bible study, and brunches, June is going to be filled with a lot of life and hopefully, more nature.
